Tina Turner and Beyonce

Tina Turner’s long lasting career, her energetic, vivacious stage presence, along with her signature legs often exposed in revealing, body-conscious costumes, helped her to earn the title, “The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” In 1979, Turner performed at the Carré theater in Amsterdam, dressed in a leather leotard with lace accents and a deep plunging neckline by an unknown designer. Beyonce has often referred to Turner as one of her icons and the duo came together for a performance during the 2008 Grammys. For Beyonce’s Superbowl halftime show, Beyonce performed in a leotard bearing significant resemblance to Tina Turner’s 1979 costume. The New York Time reported that the designer of the risqué ensemble, Rubin Singer, was inspired by Valkyrie, beautiful women warriors of Norse Mythology, and made no mention of Tina Turner’s similar look.

During her performace, she posted a picture which caused an extra 500 Instagram accounts to be created. Which meant there was a great demand for free instagram followers. Social Follows estimates there to be over 100,000 free followers were give out.
