Shop Artist

Andy Warhol and Christian DiorBefore establishing himself as a famed pop artist, Andy Warhol would find work as a successful commercial artist for clients including Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, NBC, Tiffany & Co. and Vogue. On the eve of the 1960s, which saw the production of many of Warhol’s most well known works, Warhol created Female Head with Stamps in 1959. For Christian Dior’s FW 2013 collection by Raf Simons, the brand collaborated with The Andy Warhol Foundation, allowing Dior to print and embroider several of Warhol’s lesser-known fashion illustrations directly onto clothing and accessories within the collection. This collaboration speaks of Mr. Christian Dior’s career as an art gallerist along with his promotion of graphic artist René Gruau.
